Photographer's Note
The battle between the portugese and dutch mills
is still going on,but the portugese side is getting
weaker and weaker..
The inside of a dutch mill is normally
Top Secret but today we will make an exception.
This picture is taken in the kitchen of a windmill
and you can see a real owner of a mill!
You can also see him here.
Looking through the window you can see the wheel
wich can be used to turn the mill into the wind.

I like very much your approach to this intriguing man. Soft morning light, indirect angle, a table between you and him, the cup of cofee in front of you. I do feel like I am also there, listening to his stories. I have to admit Hermann this is one of the most beautiful portraits I've seen in a long time. congradulations.

Hi Hermann,
Very nice picture from inside the mill. So this is the place the war plans are made. ;-) You used the light and shadows very well too. Good picture!

The owner of the windmill it's frightened knowing that the portuguese will replace his windmill for one white with a nice white wings too. You captured his expression well :o)
Now serious, i like the effect of the light entering over the table and on the owner. Well done.
Be well,
António

Nice interior photo from the mill, Hermann. Good handling of the challenging light conditions in this portrait of the windmill owner, with an intersting array of elements to be found on the table where he is sitting. Good shot.

Hi Hermann,
At first my congratulations with the birth of your daughter. I hope the she, the mother and you are doing well.
About the mill war. If it continues I maybe will post a picture of an icy mill in winter from my archive to change this battle into a “Cold War”

This phot is great for the daily quality of lie (and also to show us how a battle mill keeps its stamina). This photo was the first I saw this morning and instantly reminded me of summer breakfasts at my aunts farm with the instant coffee and the fruit on the table.
The man's face is great and all of the little things in it make this very homey (the dog statue the clock with the fruit the peeling paint on the wall).
A really wonderful photo of how life is.

Hi Hermann
Good dof & sharpness. I like the early morning breakfast mood of this image. The diagonal pov works well. Congratulations, & may the best side win!

Yeah, I remember this hero of the rowing boat! He's one of the guys we are counting on. I love the things that are on the table, the yellow tupperware container, a tin with a cow design (I think), the vbirds above it, the plate with the rommeldingetjes.
A really nice daily life picture, Hermann!

Hi Hermann,
Didnt know you were in the war..! :) But hope you come out safe...! I like the way you have taken this portrait with all the details on this table in the frame with the owner very much at ease. But i should say that the details outside the window is a little less visible. But i love this shot nonetheless.
Very well taken
Ranjith

A very nice catch in this violent theme of the battle :-)) a good human representation in his context.
Whatever happens he stays here tea drinking and ignoring the wind brought by Portugueses and other.
This battle is a great moment on TE.
Good shot
