As Asked by Lousat, a bit more information about Tholen:

The little town of Tholen has been built around the 13th century. The streets have a quite "medieval" look and even the "Old house" where we are living in looks like coming from a drawing by Anton Pieck. (http://www.antonpieckmuseum.nl)

This view is about one of the many watering canals around the little town.

Beautiful, Viviane.
The direct view to the two people leaves so much to the imagination. Are they kids, are they adults.. are they playing or just crossing the frozen canal. No doubt they are marvelling at the what nature has brought. It seems so quite, so unbelievably frozen... yet I can hear every echo and crisp crack. The light and colours are simply marvellous.

Hi Viviane,

Well composed and a wonderful photograph with the depth and great tone!
This shows a typical beautiful scene of winter, I think.
And, the shade draws out a good effect for the whole as well as delicate changing grade of colors.

Salut chere Viviane

A poetic photograph that reminds me of some of Jaap's amazing work. I love the icy tonesm the texture of the trees with the snow and ice clinging to them and of course the waterway frozen solid. I have never witnessed such a phenomena in my life, so it's a real treat to see here. Your management of the light here has been of the highest quality.
