Photographer's Note
Arriving in Lithuania I hadn't even heard of its existence, but I found it fascinating with this little enclave in Vilnius. They have their own parliament. But nobody knows whether they're serious about it or not. Every 1st of April you get a stamp in your passport when crossing the bridge over to Uzupis and they have their own little harbour path by the river. Their laws state for instance that "People have the right to live by the River Vilnelė, while the River Vilnelė has the right to flow past people". Its flag changes colours with the seasons
PS. I have no idea what Mona Lisa is doing on this sign.

I heard about it but I don't know either whether it has to be taken seriously. But the sign is very funny :-)

Hi Fredrik,
I always learn something here on TE and this is certainly one of the strangest to date too. That is a pretty cool sign,I like the blue smiley face and the question of why the Mona Lisa. Great way to introduce the place, both your sign and the photo.
Best wishes
Noel
