Photographer's Note

Vilnius is a capital of Lithuania. There are 3 Baltic states - Esthonia, Latvia and Lithuania; all are quite different and despite being neighbours and rather small countries are different in languages and national history.
Well, most famous among Baltic states capitals are Esthonian capital, Tallin, which have quite vast medieval city-center, second one is Latvian capital Riga with its huge Gothic cathedrals and stuff. But Vilnius, Lithuanian capital, is also worth to vizit.
Its small, and quite cozy, and I liked it a lot.

Hi, I see you got the same views as me there. I actually found Vilnius by far more beautiful than Riga, but they're different and it's hard to compare. Haven't been to Tallinn yet. I also had the impression that there were cars everywhere in the Old Town, so every time I found a good place for a photo, there were cars in the scene. Here also, the cars ruin a bit, but I know you don't really have much of a choice. Good note, and as for the photo I think the church gives a nice and a typical view of a Vilnius Old Town street. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Owl,

I was last year in Tallinn and Riga and many years ago in Vilnius. All these capitals of small countries all very nice and yes, different from each other. Nice composition from Vilnius. Cozy building but I hate when there are so many parking cars on small streets1 What can be done.. The weather was also not favourable.

Notwithstanding a bad weather day get we a nice view about the city.
An excellent perspective and depth picture with two towers if real eye catcher on the nice picture.
Colours and sharpness are nice done.
A lovely composition, excellent presentation.

Hello Uhu,
To me Vilnius was by far the nicest of the Baltic capitals. I liked the mixture of old and new, high and low, rough and polished. This photo captures this pleasant atmosphere quite well. As so often there are too many cars, but they don't hide the nice buildings.
