About three weeks ago, I saw a hoopoe in the park of my municipality for the first time (see the WS), it is not a very common bird and I was surprised to see that it carried a big worm in its beak, I thought they had nested here . Yesterday a big surprise, the little ones were in the meadow, I counted 7 but I only managed to photograph 4 together. In the other WS you can still see the young plumage in the lower part. Then I resumed the butterfly hunt ...

Circa tre settimane fa , ho visto una upupa nel parco del mio comune per la prima volta (guarda il WS), non и un uccello molto comune e sono rimasto sorpreso nel vedere che trasportava un grosso verme nel becco, ho pensato che avessero nidificato qui. Ieri una grande sorpresa, i piccoli erano nel prato, ne ho contati 7 ma sono riuscito solo a fotografarne 4 assieme. Nell'altro WS potete vedere ancora il piumaggio da giovane nella parte bassa. Poi ho ripreso la caccia alle farfalle...

Ces oiseaux sont superbes. La prise de vue permet de voir les dйtails des Huppйs. La lumiиre met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirйe.

I guess I saw these patterns of the feathers in many cathedrals of italy.
they are very beautiful animals. the crown in the head is interesting. excellent these images showing the group in action.

Excellent capture of these birds with their dark and light stripes to camouflage themselves in wooded areas with alternating sunlight and shadow to confuse predators. Tfs!

This species of bird are a new one for me. They are very curious with the striped wings and a sort of helmet. 2 good photos of them.

ciao Luciano, Fantastic to see these young Upupa epops birds. I have seen these birds only a few times. You were very lucky with your observations. My favorite is the Workshop photo with the one chick. How cute it is!

Hello Luciano,
The thumbnail made me wonder what kind of butterflies you had met this time.
These are fantastic birds, and considering they are not very common even in Italy you were lucky to find them and to take such sharp and fine photos. I have only seen one of this kind once, in Greece. In Sweden they are only found in very small numbers in the far south.

wow, these are really pretty. I have seen one just once in my life on the Madeira, but too quick to take a photo. It os amazing that you caught four birds with one shot! I think these are quite rare. I would prfere to have these and not the house martins which have a nest above the entrance to my house..
Great series. The one with giant bug is amazing! I hope it was not a butterfly larva...

But what a fantastic series of photos you have achieved of these hoopoes, in Spain they are also popularly known by the name of "cuquillos", their plumage is ideal but above all that plume of feathers on their heads is what makes them unmistakable.
A magnificent color that gives a lot of chromatic richness to the image.
Very good management of lighting and sharpness, although you should have softened the contrast a bit.

I have never seen this type of bird in person, but it's nice to see a bunch of them in your photo. The tufts of long feathers on their heads is a bit comical. I like this sharp capture of these interesting birds. Take care!
