Photographer's Note

For over a thousand years (726–1797), the city was the capital of the independent Republic of Venice, which was one of the maritime and commercial powers of the Mediterranean. Numerous monuments of the city come from the period of the greatest prosperity of the Republic (13th-16th century), whose richness and form determines the primary importance of Venice as a tourism center not only on the Italian scale, but also on a global scale. These monuments, creating a unique urban complex of the city of canals and bridges, determine the recognition of Venice as one of the most valuable places on the list of the world heritage of humanity.

Hello Janusz,
A very good vertical view down the narrow canal in Venice. The photo looks very lively thanks to the many people on the bridges and the flags on the faзades. The gondola is also well included in the foreground.

Hello Janusz,

A fascinating note and a wonderful photograph to accompany it!

I suspect that you might have used quite a long lens for this shot because the perspective appears pleasingly quite compressed so that we can see not only the beautiful canal with its gondolas and tall buildings on either side, but we can also clearly see groups of visitors crossing the canal on at least three separate bridges.

The lighting is superb, your colours natural and rich and the details and sharpness are exquisite. And, of course, you've captured that gondola at just the right moment as it disappears under the bridge!

This is a well composed photo and well timed as the gondola is about to pass under the nearest bridge. The many persons on the bridges create a very lively and exciting atmosphere. It's a perfectly exposed photo with very fine colours.

To zdjecie to kwintesencja Wenecji - widzimy trzy (a moze cztery) śliczne małe mosty, gondole z gondolierem w pasiastej koszulce, piękne pałace, kanał z odbiciami. Po prostu cudo. Bardzo mi sie podoba. Ale i tak kolejne śniadanie w C. jest ciekawsze wrrrr.

Janusz, the small footbridges, the gondolas, the local architecture immerse the visitors in a special atmosphere. I read Venice canals become cleaner due to the lockdown, the low activity decreased the water pollution. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.
