The origins of the fortification of Sorgnano are very ancient, even if there is no concrete documentary certainty.
The linguistic examination of the toponym suggests a use of the territory already in Roman times, probably in connection with the rigid centuriation of the Tiber valley

what a picturesque view!
The castello is relatively simple yet the whole setting is so very impressive!
In foreground probably olive trees and further some darker species.

It feels really pleasant for the eye.
The sky is of course quite a strong point of the composition with the clouds so well pronounced.
Altogether fantastic well saturated and natural colors.

This is a magnificent view of the castle on the hill and the road going towards it among the trees. The clouds are exceptionally nicely shaped and make a great contribution to the beauty of the entire photo. Light and colours are perfect too.

The castle has a magnificent setting in the countryside.

Silvio, Forte Sorgnano castle was built on a hill dominating the countryside. A road non tarmaced is leading to the fortification. Nowadays, olive fields are growing around the vestige of the past. Good luminosity, sharp photo.
