Photographer's Note
I was very lucky with the weather during my recent trip. I had a bit of rain but then I went to the museum. In other places when it was better to have sun and blue sky, the weather was perfect.
From Naples we went by the Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii, there we left our luggage in the hostel and went for a trip to Vesuvius. The bus comes up and then it is half an hour walk to the crater. not much effort and the views of the crater and the Gulf of Naples are magnificent. There were many tourists there but I suppose that in the summer there are more. In October there is low season already, in some hotels we were the only guests.
I find it quite strange that on TE there is no similar views. Or maybe I couldn't find them.

Hello Malgo,
Fine perspective over this rugged landscape. You have made good use of the path on the right as a frame and to create depth, whilst the visitors enliven the scene and provide scale. Very good technical realisation.

Hello Malgo,
It's not easy to take a good picture of the crater of the Vesuvius.
Here you made a good choice to show us a part of the crater together with the walkway around and a glimpse of the densely populated area near the volcano.
You had splendid weather: a mostly blue sky and the wooden fence throws beautifully its shadow on the foreground.
Best regards, Paul

Hi dear Malgo,
I seem to remember that Lisa posted a couple of photos from here in the past - like this one but, no, I agree: I've not seen any pictures quite so impressive as these three you have shown us just now, taken from the top of Mount Vesuvius.
These three photographs, each quite different, give a wonderful impression of what you could see up there - from the crater with its evil smoking sulphurous fumes to the distant views over the surrounding countryside and the Bay of Naples. And each picture is perfectly presented with lovely light, rich colours, perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.
And, of course, a fascinating note about your trip up there.
Fabulous!
Kindest Regards,
John.

Ciao Malgo,
Très belle composition. J'aimerais bien un jour tenter l'aventure de l'ascension sur les bords du cratère. Je me demande ce que cela peut sentir. Magnifique ciel bleu en arrière plan.
Bon dimanche

Interesting view of the crater with its colors, along with the mountain line fading on background.
Including the persons passing by gives us a clearer sense of the scale of the place.
Good natural tones.

Hello Malgo,
Three interesting and fascinating photos. It's hard to say which one should be used as the official upload. They all have their qualities and all have good colours.
Sometimes pictures can be hard to fins on TE because some members don't care about geography and add their photos to any province. perhaps by ignorance, indifference or to cover their map with more painted areas.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Malgo

Hello Malgo,
It reminds me a little of the Jeju Island volcano at Seongsan Ilchulbong: http://icatse.org/icsn/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/2011111200895_4.jpg
Or Tangkuban Perahu in West Java which had a 'please evacuate immediately in the event of poison gas emissions from the crater'. Good close up of the infamous caldera. Tfs!

Spectacular view on the volcano, I was on Etna and I admit it's quite a sensation. Also, amazing panorama of the city from there. Well taken.

Hello Malgo
Having seen a couple of craters on Java this summer, I'm as surprised as you are that this image doesn't seem so well known and that no one has posted a view of this crater here before. So, thanks for this one. And it's a good picture too.
Cheers

Hello, Malgorzata,
As this and other pictures from your Italian travel show, you were in luck on good weather. This scene is especially colorful and attractive under bright sunlight. The composition comprises not only multicolored rocks but also beautiful surroundings of the volcano. Excellently composed, perfectly captured and informatively commented in the note. Great work!
My warmest regards,
Sergiy

Czesc Malgorzata,
Przyjemna kompozycja, ludzie rowniez dodaja uroku i poczucia skali, w dodatku oczywiscie ten widok w oddali! Zastanawiam sie czy z drona nie udalo by ci sie zrobic lepszego zdjecia :)
Pogoda rzeczywiscie dopisala co widac po wspanialych kolorach,
M

Hello Malgo,
Much luck on the weather when climbed the mighty Volcano, up to its threatening creater.
The colors of the soil is amazing, nature's creation as wonderful formation.
Good choice to add those people/tourists walking alongside.
Have a nice new week,
Ike

Hello Malgo,
In the 90's, (1995, I think) I was in Pompeii. I had taken a day's excursion down to Pompeii and a pretty town by the sea whose name evades me now. Being in an organized tour, I did not have the freedom to wander off to the volcano. Thanks for showing me what I missed, my favorite photo is the Path around the Crater. Maybe it's time to go back with the family and take our time.
Regards,
MT

Hi Malgorzata,
The wideness of the area is giving depth to the scenery. The point of view is showing details of the crater of the Vesuvius volcano. The good luminosity is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Malgo,
the view of the formidable and notorious crater is fascinating. I like the space you gave it and the excellent details and textures featured. Your composition has fine dynamism and great depth. I also like the contrasting colours and textures of the sky. All three pictures are superb, we often see photos of the Vesuvious from the cities but not views of the cities from the crater. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Ourania
