Rome - Fontana dei Dioscuri
From Wikipedia:
The Fontana dei Dioscuri is the fountain set opposite the Palazzo del Quirinale, the official residence of the President of the Italian Republic in the Piazza del Quirinale.
The original fountain, which no longer exists, commissioned by Pope Sixtus V in 1588, had the Dioscuri, Castor and Pollux statues, from Constantine I of Rome's Baths, moved to the piazza, from the site, thought to have been nearby, flanking it.
In the late 1780s by Antinori, was commissioned by Pope Pius VI, to make a better layout for the piazza and had the fountain and the Dioscuri moved, and included the large Obelisk which had been moved from the Campus Martius in the design.
Some time between, that original fountain was lost, and, in 1818 a new one, which can be seen today, was commissioned by Pope Pius VII and was designed by Raffaele Stern using an ancient granite Roman shell that had been found in the 16th century supported on top of a large basin. It was sited in front of the two statues with the obelisk between them.
In 1810, the Rome-based sculptor Paolo Triscornia sent the reduced copies of the Dioscuri to Saint Petersburg for his compatriot Giacomo Quarenghi. They were put up in front of the Saint Petersburg Manege six years later.

Hello Romano,
The upwards point of view complemented by the moody lighting creates a fine sense of drama. I like very much the colours and the excellent textural detail to be observed.

Ciao Caro Romano,
A dramatic sculpture, made texturally strong by the interplay of light and shadows. Three always works well as a composition, whilst the tall obelisk drives attention from the base to the very top of the frame.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Ciao Romano,
Une très belle contre plongée qui unit parfaitement la partie basse et haute du monument. Une très belle gestion de la lumière difficile dans ces circonstances.
Amicalement

Ciao Romano, very nice image here. I guess you can just wander through Rome and snap random shots that turn up great. Amazing city, i've been there myself a few years ago and i was stunned. Good take, very very good details on the statue, despite the difficult light. Very good quality on the shot.
Regards!

Hi Romano
You captured a great sense of power and energy in the statue here, and it stands just as striking as the mighty obelisk you placed beside it. Beautiful light too which has created some fascinating shadows and contrasts across the whole image. Admirable composition, this shot is so well thought out and it comes across well in the final result.
best wishes

Hi Romano
Enjoyed the write-up always fascinating learning about these bits of history as this picture is just one example of your photographic approach of viewing such artistic work on a beautiful sunny day. Great perspective and low-low vp, like the detail of statues in front providing a more pleasing relationship between them in fabulous colours. There is a nice contrast here to deep blue sky and the column frames and balances the shot. A cracking capture full of impact and the treatment works very well. A graceful shot! Congrats, TFS
Warm regards

Ciao Romano,
I must have been there but I completely don't remember this fountain. I think this is probably this creative angle which you have used here: it looks so interesting but also unexpected and different from typical view of this place I guess. Great strong contrasts, Great light, all of that results in a attractive three dimensional feeling here. Lovely sky with a subtle touch of the clouds.
Excellent work!!

Un très bon angle avec cette prise en contre plongée qui donne une impression de hauteur, c'est idéal pour présenter cette colonne et la statue, bel effet de la lumière

My girlfriend and I really want to go back to Rome again at some point...we loved it there.
this shot is all about the perspective you took it at.
the upwards pov from way down low always works so well.
