Photographer's Note
An elegant façade observed in the Brera district of Milan.
Some information from Wikipedia:
Brera is located within the Zone 1 (the historical core of the city) and it is centred on (via Brera) Brera Street. The name stems from Medieval Italian "braida" or "brera", derived from Old Lombardic "brayda" (often Latinized as "praedium"), meaning a land expanse either cleared of trees or naturally lacking them. This is because around the year 900, the Brera district was situated just outside Milan's city walls and was kept clear for military reasons. The root of the word is the same as that of the Dutch city of Breda's name and the English word "broad".
Brera houses the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the Brera Art Gallery, which prominently contributed to the development of Brera as an artists' neighbourhood and a place of bohemian atmosphere, sometimes referred to as "the milanese Montmartre". Both the Academy and the Gallery are located in Palazzo Brera, the main historical building of the area; this same building also houses Milan's botanical garden as well as an astronomical observatory and the Braidense National Library.
Other features that contribute to the character of Brera include restaurants, bars, night clubs, antique and art shops, colourful street markets, as well as fortune tellers' booths.

Hello Stephen,
I cannot improve on the word 'elegant' to describe this façade. The long, slim windows create that effect and then, are adorned by the graceful mouldings, fluid wrought iron balconies and the louvered shutters. The speak of a time when artists were as important as builders.
Have a lovely w/e,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Stephen
J'aime bien ce cadrage serré sur cette très belle façade milanaise. J'aime les couleurs et la belle symétrie le tout bien cadré par la verdure de chaque côtés.

Bonjour Stephen,
Excellent close-up photo with very nice colors, perfect light, very good clarity. The green trees are in superb contrast against yellow façade.
The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions.
Very well done.
Wish you a nice weekend.

Hi Stephen,
Very elegant indeed, the color, the thin shapes, the louvred blinds and even the odd lemon color, all combine to give this building the appearance of a palace. That color would not work in many places, but it works here. And I like how the shadows of the balconies show up so well against it.
All the best

Very interesting. Obviously the window on the right is the best maintained, has a better coat of color too.

Hello Stephen,
I always enjoy colourful facades. Interesting how there are two shades of yellow. The shutters and wrought iron balconies make a super design and nicely framed by the trees.
Excellent exposure and sharpness.
Kind Regards, Ann
