Pisa Cathedral, a photo from Pisa, Tuscany

Photographer's Note

This is a shot of the Cathedral complex at Pisa from the third level of the Baptistery. This cross is in the middle of the window so I tried to make the best of it to frame the shot and get as much of the Cathedral as possible. I also tried not to miss the bell tower popping up in the back with its famous lean. I got lucky to have a dramatic sky that day since it was completely cloudy and raining from Ravenna to Florence and only started to really clear approaching Pisa.

The shot is as it is, with a slight correction for rotation. I also had no filter to brighten up the sky since that shattered to pieces when I dropped the camera a few days prior.

Nice version of Pisa, Paul. The cross is a bit heavy in the foreground, but wow how well this angle shows the tilt of the tower. Well done!

A refreshingly different view at that !!

Also the shadowed cross in the foreground looks stunning. How about cropping just a bit from the bottom to avoid the mixed shadows.

Great shot, Paul. The Cathedral looks beautiful from this angle. Its lighter colour contrasts well with your brillant sky. Well captured. Good note.

Beautiful and dramatic sky. I love the sillhoute on the right of the photograph very powerfull.
The sharpness of the facade is just amazing You did such a beautiful job capturing this.

Quelle composition intйressante ! La tour penchйe en arriиre plan donne une note bizarre а l'ensemble. Quelque chose dйrange, et on se demande quoi.

very different view of pisa in combination with dramatic sky. good contrast between the shiny catedral and dark clouds. you should cut the uper left part of the photo, there is a black narow string.
