upside down ??, a photo from Florence, Tuscany

Photographer's Note

Today i was taking a look at some old photos and i found this one...

It's taken by the Arno River and the bridge is "Ponte Vecchio"..Ponte Vecchio is noted for still having shops built along it, as was once common. Butchers initially occupied the shops; the present tenants are jewellers, art dealers and souvenir sellers. It has been described as Europe's oldest wholly-stone, closed-spandrel segmental arch bridge, but there are far older segmental arch bridges such as Alconйtar Bridge.

Εξαιρετική και μοναδική αυτή η σύνθεση με τις απόλυτες αντανακλάσεις, πανέμορφη και πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα αυτή η γέφυρα πολυκατοικία, μου αρέσει η ανάποδη παρουσίαση που δίνει την αίσθηση της αμφιβολίας στον θεατή, πολύ καλή η γωνιά λήψης, τα χρώματα και η διαχείριση του φωτός, θαυμάσια δουλειά.

I see three diff sectors of water reflections after turning this upside town, the true image. Very clever presentation sort of testing our brain about logic and I like your ideas and vision. Excellent capture highlighting much details in equally good exposure, love the shapes and repeated lines and the curves tranforming it into symmetrical patterns. Quite an inspired shot, the colours are good & the picture standout. Congrats

Hi Chrysoula,
a good idea to turn 180є the image, putting the reflections above of the framing, in an image with a good optical effect, which cheats our sight for a while.
You have played skillfully with the real image of the famous Ponte Vecchio and its image reflected on the water of the river, creating a composition with a strong graphism.
It is an excellent work.

τι να πει κανεις για τη φωτογραφια...?καθομαι και τη χαζευω εδω και ωρα...υπεροχες οι αντανακλασεις που δουλέψαν αψογα στο καδράρισμα, αλλα αυτο που σε κερδίζει αμέσως ειναι τα 2 "παραθυρα-καδρα"που σχηματιζουν οι καμαρες της γεφυρας....Εξαιρετικη η ολη δουλεια σου Χρυσουλα!!!πολλα συγγχαρητηρια!!!(εννοειται οτι εγινε αγαπημενη μου)

Ahah, you revert the view. Not so obvious at first glance. You were lucky to have no wind to get this nice mirror effect. Good idea for this photo.

I like this very much, it is a clever idea to turn it upside down, which off course depend very much on the perfect reflection. Though doing this way give people also the wrong impression that the photo is not very sharp because we are looking at the reflection. Beautiful colors, good clarity and nice symetrical composition.

i think this is my first time visiting your gallery, i really like what i see.
especially with this creative take on a well photographed bridge in Florence.
this is an eye catcher for sure, having the 2 arches really makes such a visual impact.
love to see all the people on the bridgedeck.

caspita che riflesso fantastico! Hai fatto bene a ruotare la foto, l'effetto и ancora piщ evidente e ho dovuto tornare piщ volte con lo sguardo sull'immagine per capire come funzionava. Bellissia la luce e splendidi i colori. Brava, un bellissimo lavoro.

Khalimera Chrysoula, finally a different picture with reflections on TE! wow, this one really steps out. Perfect idea and composition, and I love the boat detail and also the cheating reflections of that castle-like thing and the buildings on the other shore that don't exist on the other side of the axe of symmetry. It's a liiitle bit tilted, and it could look better with a simple thin frame or without any. Anyway, perfect shot!
