Dorgali и situato nella zona centro-orientale della Sardegna possiede un territorio di forma grosso modo rettangolare presentando un allungamento che si spinge all'interno verso Orune, per un'estensione di quasi 225 km2comprendenti anche la grossa frazione di Cala Gonone. Il territorio comunale confina: a sud con i comuni di Baunei, Urzulei e Orgosolo, a ovest con Oliena, Nuoro, e Orune a nord con Galtellм, Lula e Orosei, mentre a est si affaccia sul Mar Tirreno. Un territorio tanto vasto quanto vario e morfologicamente complesso che si muove dalle coste basse e sabbiose o a falesia della baia di Cala Gonone, nel settore centrale del golfo di Orosei, agli altopiani, fino alle montagne del Supramonte, nell'entroterra, arrivando a toccare i 1086 m con Monte Oddeu. Il territorio и attraversato da numerosi torrenti e fiumi dei quali i piщ importanti sono il Rio Flumineddu, che scorre nella fertile valle di Oddoene, il Rio Isalle che scorre nell'altrettanto produttiva valle omonima e il Fiume Cedrino che grazie alla diga di Preda'e Othoni forma il grande lago artificiale di Iriai a pochi chilometri da Dorgali. Il centro urbano si stende nelle colline alle falde dei monti calcarei di Bardia (881 m s.l.m.) e Tului (911 m s.l.m) alla congiunzione dei quali una galleria assicura il collegamento con il paese di Cala Gonone a 8 chilometri dal capoluogo comunale, quattrocento metri piщ a valle. Le bellezze naturalistiche sparse per il territorio e anche il clima temperato e tipicamente mediterraneo hanno reso Dorgali e Cala Gonone una famosa meta turistica internazionale.

An interesting note about Dorgali and a stunningly beautiful portrait of this young lady.

I love the softness of the light and how the main light illuminates the left side of her face, bringing out her lovely features and her fine complexion. Her clothing is beautifully portrayed in great detail but, most of all, I love the fabulous eye contact which the girl has with the photographer.

Gorgeous light and colours, fine composition, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

You captured her soul in this beautiful portrait! The girl's expression, the colors and sharpness are all spectacular. Even placing her left eye on the vertical bisector is a masterful, if unintentional strategy. According to the "Centerline principle,"
In 1998 Dr. Christopher Tyler, an English born psychologist living in San Francisco, made a remarkable discovery regarding single-subject portraits: in the preponderance of great portraits spanning the centuries, the centerline passes through one eye — not the nose, not the ear. It could be the leading eye (as in the case of this rabbi) or it could the trailing eye. All three portraits of young women painted by Leonardo (including in the most famous portrait in the history of art), in countless portraits by Rembrandt, in many paintings by van Gogh and even Picasso. It is a principle never taught in art schools, and yet one that the great artist discovers intuitively. See for example, Rembrandt's Portrait of the Old Rabi.
