Photographer's Note

Still a rainy day in Italy. Took the train to Pozzouli (kind of suburb of Napoli), then the second ferry to Procida.
Why the second? Because the first one gone, as we are 10m away. They saw us runing, but didn't care...

Procida is the smallest and oldest island in the Bay of Naples, of volcanic origin, and, in some ways, the prettiest of the Phlegrean islands (Ischia,Capri). There is a strong centuries-old seafaring tradition here, while the original character of the village centre and environment have been preserved, with its picturesque white and pinks houses which have a particular charm.

In general, what are peoples' priorities in this city? For example, do lives revolve around work, family, socializing, sports, etc.?
In Procida the residents have a very old mentality and have a general prejudice towards non-resents, especially non-Italians. The opinions are that women do not need to work. The top priorities are taking care of there spouses, cleaning house, and having children. Procida is a very small island that is considered part of Naples. Most of the men work away from home and usually see their husbands 4 months out of the year.

In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.
The predominate religion is Catholicism. This area is very poor and a lot of people do not even have a bank account. The cultural diversity is enormous. They are not accepting of differences. In my opinion the people can't even comprehend other cultures. A lot of people cannot read or write. Some people don't know or are not willing to accept that there are other religions besides Catholisim

What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?
There are no industries in Procida. Career opportunities do not exist. Usually people work in othere areas within or outside of the country.

Very busy shot Janos, think if you cropped out
the pole on the right and top it would be a
much better composition, actually there are
several shots to be had with cropping if you
think about it. other than that, good work as
well as an informative note.

Hi Janos,
Colors and sharpness are of good quality here and indeed a pano-crop on top just above the tree can improve it a lot as op frame is too small and sky is not offering too much on top ....
Though I like the view very much for the fine light pastel colors and leveled compo.

Not an easy one you took here, the details are nice, there is some backlight but that give a nice atmosphere, the point of view is realy nice, good job.

Hi Janos,
This is a very well composed and as "Wirraway" said a "busy" shot.Because the place itself, in a way, is so busy. I think only the dinosourus are missing (when reading your note I got this impression).
I can understand the attitudes of the local people there.

The pipe at the right and the top is not bodering. It only seemed a little brighter to me as if it's overexposed. Overall good photo with sharpness, depth and lots of details.

Good job with good note and thanks for sharing...
