Alberobello Chimneys, a photo from Bari, Apulia

Photographer's Note

Another shot of the trulli houses of Alberobello (plural = trullo) near Bari. Well worth an overnight stop in its own right, which also helps to avoid the worst of the tourist crowds. Once again, a car has parked where I would have preferred it hadn't.

Hello Chris,
I am not surprised that these houses attract tourists. They should be irresistible for photographers, but could cause problems for the exposure, which you clearly avoided. I had to look at the enlarged version to discover the annoying car. It doesn't disturb me much but could have been avoided with a tighter crop or careful clone stamping.

Wow ...... what a spectacular place it looks like a fairy tale town, these constructions are ideal with the great contrast of their white walls and their conical roofs that look like slate, without a doubt a spectacular town.
A fantastic photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.

Wonderful light, best time of the day to take this photo. The deep blue sky makes for a great canvas for the buildings. You dealt with the annoying car very well.

It could have been much worse. Imagine if the car was parked where there are now plants.

Hi Chris,

A good sunny view of these intriguing buildings. The coarse rock roofs contrast with the smooth white walls. Nice sharpness and composition. The car doesn't really intrude on the photo.

Great view onto this classic Puglia scene, Chris. Superb blue sky, great that your white did get some nuance too. The only element I don't like too much is that half of that modern car on the left. Timeless scene otherwise!

These are remarkable buildings, with their conical roofs and tall chimneys, like nothing I ever saw in Italy.
Your photograph captures their details very clearly, whilst your composition creates a fine sense of depth and perspective.
It's a beautiful, sunny day yet you have managed to prevent any oe on the pale coloured walls.
