The building on the right is known as St. Mary's Abbey or Talbot's Castle. It was the home of Jonathan Swift and the famous mathematician Sir. William Rowan Hamilton.

Happy Chrismas Danny,
I like this shot and the composition. The great looking castle is looking more beautiful due to snow on the rooftops.
The small wooden bridge is also nice and the foreground tree's color is somehow different and looking of Petal color is nice.

Lovely shot Danny! Nice warm colours, and good composition. Exposure level is good as I can see detail in the shadows on the snow.

Your note reminded me that Hamilton is reputed to be Ireland's greatest ever scientist. He once solved a mathematical problem while out walking with his wife, and carved an equation into the side of Broome Bridge. Each year, the National University of Ireland, Maynooth has organized a pilgrimage, where mathematicians take a walk from Dunsink observatory to the bridge. Unfortunately, no trace of the carving remains, though a stone plaque does commemorate the discovery.
