This is a superb picture, Elaine. Strong contrasts, great shade. The line of statues on the right is really strong too. Top class, great to see such a post here.

Hello Elaine, I have read what you have written. And here there is: the library at Trinity College in Dublin. Fantastic picture. I was in this library and also in the library in Trinity in Cambridge where I saw the manuscript of Winnie the Pooh and the book with the notes by Newton.

Hello Elaine So much pure science stored in those shelves and so much wisdom aligned on the pedestals for an attractive photo captured with great respect to the gloomy ambiance! Master capture, for sure! Cheers

Hello Elaine,
This is a fantastic composition and also marvellously well taken. The long diagonal line of marble busts, the light on the bookshelves and the ladder standing in front of the nearest shelf are all superb elements of this perfectly taken photo. It's technically and artistically way above most of what we see on TE.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Elaine,
An excellent composition with this long line of receding busts stretching toward the vanishing point. Expert light management contributes much to the mood. Very good colours and sharpness.

Hi Elaine
A cracking low light and fab collection of old books - beautifully lit just enough of it and not to much. A shot further strengthened by the sculptures loaded with atmosphere and depth. Congrats
Best regards

Hi Elaine
What an amazing building well created for a library purpose, we can smell the old books on the many shelves and admire the sculpture of some famous writers. Good play the the light and the heads perspective.

Hello Elaine,
At first I thought wrongly that the statues were all of Shakespeare, but they are all different. The first one is Francis Bacon. Anyway I like their repetition. Good light contrasts and sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Elaine,
I worked at Trinity College for three years and so I had free entrance to this library. I loved this interior and went there even just to relax or I took my guests there.
I remember though that they were strict and didn't allow taking photos inside so I have none :(
But this is not the first time I see a photo from this interior recently so I suspect they may have softened the rules a bit...
Great composition with the statue making a nice foreground and a start of the repeated motif which stretches in the pattern.
Very well done!!
