Dun Laoghaire

Photographer's Note

Hi all,

I have searched through my archive and came across this shot. There is nothing really exciting about it but it was the skye that cought my attention.
I started working in Dun Laoghaire in May last year so it's 1 year now these days so I wish to celebrate this anniversary with this shot.
I never used to like the "cube" tehre on the pier but there is a fish shop in there and they do have delicious range of seafood. So I kind of like it now :)

hello Viktor,
excellent shot, very natural colors, good contrast and light managment. I wish you could make it bigger it would looks much better. Anyway great shot.

I like the photo, although you could have better worked out the shadows. And btw, why do you use only 604 pixels???

Viktor, I'll give the sky my vote too! It certainly is an impressive one, richly coloured by using the CPL, and featuring a fantastic cloud formation. Personally, I would crop a little from the left of the photo and the bottom, and bring the harbour and boats closer. Then enlarge the photo to 800 pixels and we can really see some of the detail a bit better. Actually, that cube that you didn't like gives the shot a focal point, with the sun shining on one side of it.
