Photographer's Note

Harpa is a concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavнk.

The opening concert was held on May 4, 2011.

Harpa was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colours.
The building was originally part of a redevelopment of the Austurhцfn area dubbed World Trade Center Reykjavнk, which was partially abandoned when the financial crisis took hold. The development was intended to include a 400-room hotel, luxury apartments, retail units, restaurants, a car park and the new headquarters of Icelandic bank Landsbanki.

taken this from a faiurly distant POV, but managed to includ good part of the snow promenade and the jetty.
The building archi.-design is magnificent.
Fine clear shot on a winter day.

Hello Burak,
Excellent capture of this modernistic urban landscape. The long perspective along the icy footpath makes a great lead-line. Good management of the lighting supported by very good colours and clarity.

Bonjour Burak,

C'est le mois de fйvrier а son meilleur. Lumiиre froide, ciel sans contraste et neige sous les pieds. Beau point de vue bas qui donne de la profondeur. Donne envie de mettre une veste.

The depth lends this quite an impact with nice lead lines aided by some bright colours making this simple compo works. The exposure is well managed with good background interest. Excellent catch, Congrats.

Together with your workshop we can see that the result is excellent indeed. Not a spectacular, but certainly an attractive designed building.

Hello Burak,
Great view along the snowy pavement, wall and water. It adds a very nice perspective towards the modern music hall in the background. The light conditions and composition are excellent.
