Photographer's Note

We had been in Iceland for 7 days prior to this and only saw the sun on 2 ocsasions. The weather was so miserable (rain, rain and more rain), that I was actually contemplating taking highway 1 back to Reykjavik but then I thought, I will probably never get the chance to drive down the Kjolur Route again. Thank God I did.

This shot I took was of my 2 travel companions and myself taking photos of the mountain. In most of the shots I took of this scene, I did not include our shadows. After finishing taking all the shots I wanted, I thought I would get one with our shadows in it as well. It seems that this turned out to be the one I liked most.

Like a few other areas in Iceland, the beautiful yet alien scenery here is impossible for me to describe. You must all go there and see it for yourself.

The fjell itself is allso very nice, lovely strong colours and very detailed.

Hi,

Great picture. I love the idea of shadows on the snow. It gives the image human dimension despite the fact that there are no people on the picture.

hey Tan, great idea to include yourself and your companions in the photo as shadows (well, it's not exactly modest to say as I'm planning to post something similar:-)). Your placement of the shadows is excellent and the landscape and colours are fantastic.

This is a powerful image due to the fantastic, low light conditions. The shadows add to the vast scenery and are perfectly "placed" in the frame. The clarity and quality of this image are outstanding.
