Skуgafoss Waterfall

There is a legend connected to Skуgafoss waterfall dating back to around year 900 - according to this old folklore, you can find a chest filled with gold and treasures behind Skуgafoss waterfall! So if you dare, try and go behind the falls. See workshop for effort. There are other big waterfalls in Iceland where you can go behind, but perhaps not this one.

Visiting these beautiful Icelandic waterfalls is a delight. I have seen about 6 and there are many more. If you like nature landscape, seascapes, and waterfalls, as well as mountains, glaciers, and volcanic fields – THIS IS THE PLACE.

Hello David,
I imagine Iceland as wet and cold most of the time.
The waterfall is impressive, but the best thing about the main photo, I think, is the fresh green colour of the meadow and the mountainside.
The many visitors give us a correct interpretation of the scale.

I know this place so well, I've been here a couple of times and I've flown my drone here. smart looking angle you took the photo on, as the waterfall is trying to hide. lovely colors to make it pop. cheers

Je vais oublier la cascade du bois de Boulogne (Paris-France) pour prendre de la hauteur avec ces magnifiques cascades et chutes d'eau derriиre lesquelles le trйsor reste introuvable.
En fait, le trйsor, il est lа devant nos yeux йmerveillйs.

Hello David,
It's a well known view on TE but it's just as impressive every time. It's a well taken and very sharp photo and the long diagonal line of tourists provide colors, life and dimensions. I like the fresh green tones of the vegetation.

This location of nature beauty provides a very peaceful mind! That's what you call a waterfall with incredible volume of water crashing down. A well proportioned image, some foreground interest, inclusion of the people certainly get the scale of this in perspective. An impressive dramatic capture blended with gorgeous colours and contrast. we do not seem to share waterfalls as a common theme. I noticed that our sons saw Skogafossen on their Iceland trip on May 7th. Despite my quarter scandinavian origin, I have not been there yet, but according to what they showed me: green - black - white, the typical colours in which Iceland usually appears.

Classic view from Iceland, the busloads of tourists seem typical too, I'm afraid. But maybe I'm wrong, I haven't visited the country yet. The wife says it's too cold.

Hello David, we can almost hear the roar of the falling water from here!
What strikes me about your picture is just how green it all is! Obviously, it must be constantly wet.
I like your point of view with the line of people making their way towards the falls. They add little spots of colour as well as scale.

An amazing photo of this huge waterfall in the very green landscape. The many people in brightly coloured coats add a great sense of scale here as well. The composition is good and well-balanced.
