A CLOSER VIEW ON WS.

FISHERMEN'S BASTION AND MATTIAS CHURCH

As part of the expansive plans for the reconstruction of Castle Hill in the late 19th century was that segment of the city-wall that stands behind Matthias Church.
Between 1901 and 1905 the existing parts of the fortress were connected by neo-Romanesque corridors, terraces and towers following designs by Frigyes Schulek. The Fishermen's Bastion has become one of the capital's landmarks, offering a panoramic view of Pest.

This was the coronation church of Hungarian kings since King Matthias. The records of 1247 first mention this church as the main church of Buda Castle. The originally French building in early Gothic style has been consistently enlarged and rebuilt over the centuries. In 1526, when the Turks conquered Buda, the church was transformed into a mosque. After the reconquest of the city (1686) the church belonged to the Franciscans and later to the Jesuits. Between the years 1874 and 1896, Frigyes Schulek completely reconstructed the Church of Our Lady in the neo-Gothic style.

IL BASTIONE DEI PESCATORI E LA CHIESA DI MATTIA

IL BASTIONE DEI PESCATORI - Al posto dell'odierno Bastione dei Pescatori nel Medioevo si trovava un mercato di pesce e il villaggio dei pescatori, da qui deriva il suo nome. Il Bastione, costruito negli anni 1901-03, и un sistema di bastioni neoromanici e neogotici sulle mura medievali anche se non ha mai svolto scopi di difesa. Dai suoi terrazzi si presenta una vista indimenticabile sul Danubio e su Pest. Il panorama di Buda con il Bastione dei Pescatori nel 1988 и stato inserito dall'UNESCO nella Lista del Patrimonio Mondiale. Nel 1997 sotto il Bastione и stata aperta la cripta della chiesa di San Michele che venne menzionata per la prima volta nel lontano 1443.

LA CHIESA MATTIA - Fondata dal re Bйla IV nel XIII secolo, la Chiesa della Madonna, oggi di Mattia, (Mбtyбs-templom), fu rimaneggiata nel secolo successivo, con la costruzione della porta di Maria, e ricostruita per volontа di re Mattia Corvino verso il 1470. Sulla facciata della torre и collocato lo stemma reale, che, di fatto, ha dato il nome alla chiesa. Dopo la distruzione avvenuta durante l’assedio del 1686, anno in cui Carlo di Lorena scacciт definitivamente i turchi, la chiesa fu ricostruita, e prese l’attuale forma. Ancora danneggiata nella 2^ guerra mondiale, и stata restaurata negli anni ’60. La chiesa Mattia и stata teatro dell’incoronazione di alcuni re ungheresi. La torre della chiesa и alta 80 metri. Nella chiesa и collocata la collezione d'arte religiosa, dove sono illustrato il lapidario, il reliquario e la storia della Sacra Corona ungherese ed i capolavori di gioielleria del tesoro.

Both the WS and this picture are majestically showing the known place in Budapest, Luciano.
Personally I prefer the closer view, as details more spread on image space's.
Outstanding and well managed the illumination.

Both shots are excellent but I have to go along with you for your main choice; this very minimalistic approach really makes the viewers look more carefully, with more interest, with more curiosity. I would suggest, all photographers have this aim in mind.

A really creative use of light and dark, Luciano! This highlights one of my favorite things about Budapest, which is its nighttime light - all of the city's great buildings are beautifully illuminated, especially along the Danube. You show that beautifully here, isolating the Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion in an otherwise dark sky. A textbook example of how to do a lot with a little through the use of space and framing - just gorgeous!

The well illuminated buildings are presented clear and with good quality.

L'utilisation d'une vitesse d'exposition lente et probablement d'un appui permet de voir les dйtails et les couleurs de l'йglise et d'une partie des murs de la forteresse. Le ciel noir et les projecteurs font ressortir les couleurs. Bonne soirйe.

marvelous noctuirn view. I liked the precious framing here with the golden church in a corner and the might night around.when I am travelling I ever avoid the night, this time in italy I got some few images from blue hour (because I was lost and arrived too late in the hotel. haha).
