Photographer's Note

This is part of the pre-game celebrations held in OAKA at the Hellas-Malta game for the EURO 2008 qualifying round. There were approximately 45.000 people that despite the bad weather went to the game to congratulate the raining European Champions and wish them good luck in their new EURO adventure coming up in June. Here is more info on the road to EURO 2008. The game ended 5-0 in favor of Hellas and you will see at the WS the after the game celebrations of the players.

Γειά σου Στέλλα,
πολύ ωραία γωνία και στιγμή λήψης. Ιδιαίτερο τόνο δίνουν τα μπαλόνια που λάμπουν στο φως, με φόντο τις σκοτεινές κερκίδες.
Εύχομαι οι χοροί να συνεχιστούν και του χρόνου...

Hi Stella,

Very beautiful composition. Good capture of the stadium all decorated with balloons in the blue and white colours of the Greek flag. Very nice colors and details.

Kalimera Stella,
Excellent framing here looking out at the curve of the stadium through the interaction of sunlight and shadow. I really like the light through the balloons; the repetition blue & white in the flags and the twisting loops of balloons really ties the photo together. Looks like your son is an champion football player. And of course the ancient champion cups look like the current ones; Greece is the source of many of our ideals of beauty.

This is very exciting. The light on the balloons works well contrasted against the dark crowd.
I went to this stadium when it opened in the 80's. I lived in Maroussi from 80 -88.
