Photographer's Note
A wider angled shot of the Porch of the Maidens atop the Acropolis in Athens. 5 of the 6 caryatids are the originals with one appropriated by Lord Elgin now in the London Museum. A copy stands in its place. The building is or was roped off at the time I was there. The Erechtheion (Ερέχθειο) is a major structure on the north side of the plateau. At right is Lycabettus Hill. Hi Chris,
This building is less famous than Parthenon, but this is wonderful too. Female statues as columns is quite special. This wider framing also gives a fairly good idea of surroundings.

Hello Chris,
This is a well taken photo of a beautiful building, but I like just as much that you pointed the camera towards the right side to include the hill in the distance. Along with the clouds gathered above the hill it balances the composition well.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Chris,
Les roches cadrent bien le temple. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du Porches des demoiselles. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
In the days of the Grand Tours and the discovery of ancient sites, it seemed perfectly appropriate to buy or remove ancient statues! We are more sensitive nowadays!
This is a lovely, sharply exposed view of the Porch of Maidens. The f/g ruins make us aware of the antiquity and grateful that the building is more upright!
You had a fine, sunny day, for good light.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
Lucky guy! Because this part of the Acropolis was cordoned off, you could take a fantastic picture of the Erechtheion together with a view of Lycabettus Hill and without a crowd of people in front of your camera.
An Acropolis photo at its best!
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris,
A great shot of this famous place with this temple and those caryatids. I like how you included the old stones in the foreground as well as the hill at right.

Hi Chris,
Beautiful composition from this famous place. You had a lovely weather. Too often there is a slight fog decreasing visibility there. The clarity is so good that we can well enjoy also the Lycavitos Hill in the distance as well.
Very well pronounced colors.
Excellent work,

chris
a classic view of this area in athens, ever a fabulous place to visit and despite the damages it is impressive these ruins survived after so many invasions and wars, buildings of my young town can't survive even for the local people.
take care

Hello Chris,
Don't you hate it when you visit a place once in a lifetime and the attraction is closed? You got a nice photo from a distance.
