Photographer's Note
The Acropolis of Athens from a different angle. The ancient citadel is located on a high rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance, the most famous being the Parthenon. If you walk around Athens you may see a part of the Acropolis from here and there. It is after all located on the highest hill in Athens. The word acropolis in the Greek words ,eans the "highest point, extremity").Although there are many other acropoleis in Greece, the significance of the Acropolis of Athens is such that it is commonly known as "The Acropolis" without qualification.
