Photographer's Note
Afternoon view of the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens, Greece. The ruins are located on a wide open area near the center of the city, close to the Acropolis.
As the name indicates, the temple was dedicated to Zeus, and was completed on the 2nd Century AD, about 600 years after the construction started (Wikipedia).
Already on the 3rd. Century AD, the temple was destroyed during a barbarian invasion and most probably was never repaired.
Nowadays it remains as one of the most important touristic attractions of the city.
