To papagolf..., a photo from Etoloakarnania, Central Greece

Photographer's Note

This is the church of Ano Chora of Oreini (meaning "mountainous") Nafpaktia. I measured light with the sky, trying to make a more dramatic effect by increasing the contrast of the human-made dark building and the white-azure-grey tones of the clouds (aided also by the time of day and the weather). I also used high ISO to give the photo less sharpness in an attempt to make it atmospheric...

I would like to dedicate this photo to Papagolf who is very fond of these subjects: churches and architecture in general. Philippe, thank you for sharing your wonderful photos.

Thanks for your tribute for our friend Papagolf
Good point of view on the church.
But the sky has influenced your camera sensor for an underexposure. But it's possible to correct it in post processing

Hi Vangelis,

This is a lovely dedication to Philippe, he will be very happy.

It is not easy to control the light when there is such strong contrast, you did well here to capture the melodramtic mood. The high ISO allow you to get more detials in the shade even if not as sharp, it captured well the atmosphere.
