Lindos - Rodi.
il turismo di massa puo' alienarti dai posti piu' belli, costringendoti a visitarli in orari inconsueti o fuori stagione. Lindos e' uno di quei luoghi dove i pullman turistici arrivano di continuo, fino al primo pomeriggio, per poi riportare i visitatori giornalieri nei vari alberghi e resorts dell'isola. per cui a me non restava che andarci dopo la dipartita dei turisti, nel tardo pomeriggio. il che ha i suoi vantaggi: il sole picchia un po' meno mentre si sale verso l'acropolis e la maggior parte dei vicoli del villaggio e' frequentata di nuovo dagli abitanti locali. lo svantaggio (a settembre) e' che c'e' meno luce e il sole tramonta abbastanza rapidamente... non cosi velocemente da non permettere di scattare un paio di foto qua e la' :)

mass tourism can keep you away from many beautiful places or force you to visit them at uncomfortable times or out of season. Lindos is one of those places where tourist buses arrive in the morning, pour out group after group and collect them again in the early afternoon, to drive them back to their respective hotels and resorts. until then the narrow streets of the village (made even narrower by all the touristic goods and clothes spilling out from the shops into the alleys) are one continuous line of people ascending to the Acropolis and searching for a place to escape the heat. after 3pm however the buses start to leave and the village goes back to a more normal life. also, the ascent to the acropolis is a lot more enjoyable as the sun starts to set and the path leading up the hill is basically free. the trade-off (especially in September) is that the sun sets quickly so the available light is reduced to a minimum - still enough however to shoot a couple of pictures here and there :)
in the WS you can see the Lindos bay, where the sea is a lot more beautiful than the picture suggests
