Photographer's Note

I was standing on the sandy beach in one of the many small bays around Cape Sounion, trying to take a nightshot of the Temple of Poseidon, when I noticed a lonely man sitting on the end of a pier. I admired his calmness and stillness and decided to take a photo. He remained totally still for more than the 30 seconds that this take lasted!

Hercules,
This is a fine blue hour shot! The line of orange in the sky adds nice contrast for the deep blue sky and water. Your composition is fine using the pier to lead the eye to the lone man on the end of the pier. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has outstanding sharpness.

Hi Hercules,
Stunning colours from the blue hour. the range of blues throughout the shot is huge and the oranges offset the blues perfectly.
there appears to be a touch of graininess to the shot, this is possible due to the fairly high ISO speed selected. a reduction in this may have reduced this some what.

Highlights are the chosen pov, the vertical format, the composition and the colors! Exposure, level of sharpness, pp and contrasts are also excellent!
A photograph that invites me (and probably all of us) to some relaxing moments by the sea at that time of the day, for some meditation, for some thankful thoughts!

I was there approximately 21 years ago...I still remember the sandy beach and hill with the ruins dominating the landscape.

The pier looks like a giant indicator of the direction we should look in to see the beautifully coloured sky at sunset.

Normally I am not in favour of very bright colours but here they work very wlel to create an almost unearthy neon like glow filling the view around the figure. The arrow shaped pier also works very well.

he leido la triste noticia que nos dejas, que te vas de TE. En tu intro reproduces el hilo de apoyo a las 4 fotуgrafas que han decidido irse, por problemas que ignoro, y que fue alterado o desactivado. No entiendo nada de lo que estб pasando, pero lo que sн que tengo muy claro es el perjuicio que se ha creado, ya que vamos a perder grandes fotуgrafos y amigos aquн.
