Small city lights during the blue hour, a photo from Serres, Macedonia

Photographer's Note

This is the next biggest city closed to my village, called Serres.

Serres lies in central Macedonia in Northern Greece.
It has approx. 70.000 inhabitants and at least the same possibilities in going out and shopping.

Photo taken during the blue hour from the Byzantine Castle Koulas on a very hot day (around 42° Celsius).

Hello Sakicim,
This is a very nice high POV from the castle. Serres looks more like a metropolis than a 70.000 inhabitants town. The Orthodox church in the middle looks very charming, and i like all those crisp details: your specialty.

PS: I came back yesterday from a rainy and cold Cologne.
It was a very busy Germany trip, going everyday from Cologne to Dьsseldorf, and coming back in the evening for 5 days...
I must say, we could have never met, even though you were close enough, so, nothing to be sad about. Andreas says "come to Hamburg in November". I'll try to do my best.

Hello Sakis,
Wasn't one of our dear friends "accidentally" born in this town? ;-) It sure looks like a very nice place.
I like the two strong bands of colour framing the city - the vivid green at the bottom and the beautifully rich blue at the top. Perfect timing and perfect work with light, and good composition - the church just off centre draws the eye to itself very naturally.

έχω πολύ καιρό να σε επισκευθώ! Βλέπω μία όμορφη εικόνα της πόλης σου! Πιστεύω πως την νοσταλγείς!
