Delphi, a photo from Fokida, Central Greece

Photographer's Note

The view from my Hotel terrace in Delphi, looking towards the coastal town of Itea on the Gulf of Corinth. The bright area at right is a canal or aqueduct. There are a few wind turbines on the tops of some of the hills. Delphi is famous for the Oracles. Alexander the Great came here for advice on whether he should go ahead with his plans of conquest. After Pythia, the priestess to Apollo, avoided him for a day or 2, fearing retribution or death if her prophesies did not come true, he eventually got her to tell him his fortune, and she advised him to go ahead. The rest is history. The temple ruins are about 1km at left from here.

Blue hour and landscape view from that hill, mountains, a canyon and a lake in the bg, the light of a village far away, nice perspective, good pov and colors

Hi Chris,
a nice blue hour posting.
i like the highlighted road as it seems to stand out in the shot. i also like the pinky hue in the background, it just breaks up the total blue of the shot.

Hi Chris,

The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. Using a 15 seconds shutter speed and probably a support is allowing me to see the details and colors of the scenery. It also has a special effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Impressionnante photo а l'heure bleue. Tu donnes l'impression d'кtre bien haut dans la montagne avec au lin la lumiиre d'une petite ville au bord de l'eau. Techniquement bien rйussie.

Good afternoon Chris,
magnificent evening scenery over the Fjord on far and valley in close.
Saw the wind-turbine, would not noticed unless mentioned, and the silver-stripof the aqueduct, a modern-one is notable on. Golden light rise from behind the far mountains, lovely photo collected.
Hope you had not get the Delphi advise as Alexander...

l'ora blu ha sempre una certa suggestione, ma in questo caso и assai maggiore per via dello spettacolo marino con le luci che si accendono lungo la costa, mentre la campagna retrostante ancora offre particolari alla suggestione dell'osservatore.
Una bella composizione che la natura ti ha offerto e che tu sei stato molto bravo a cogliere nella migliore delle maniere.

What a view!
I could have sat and gazed at this forever!
The blue hour adds a sense of romance!
Love the colour in the sky which allows the hills to become framed for that wonderful sense of depth.
The little patches of light inform us that we are in the 21st century and bring us back from our imaginations!

It would be an understatement to say that this is a very blue picture. But looking closely, I can see some pink parts in the sky... A very attractive view and a very beautiful landscape here.

I notice you chose the hotel for the views, the best and relax way to obtain good captures
Love and like blue hours captures like this panoramic one so well composed with different shadows of (grey)) blue, and the shinning silver route
