Photographer's Note

A detail of the marina of Mikrolimano, Pireaus. The white mass in the distance is part of the southern suburbs of Athens.
I haven't overdone it with post processing and there are a few details that may prove this. My vantage point was the terrace of a well known seafood restaurant.

Mikrolimano (little port) is 1km from the centre of Piraeus, close to the main port, the largest in Greece, but it's very peaceful and picturesque. In the port there are small fishing boats, sailing boats and luxurious yachts. All along the quay there are coffee bars and restaurants with a great variety of sea food. You feel so far away from the city wandering there (except if you're looking for a parking place.)
In ancient times the port was protected by Artemis. At the location of the goddess' temple now lies the building of the Yacht Club of Greece.

lovely maritime scene and really superbly composed!
What I like th emost is your vertical frame and perspective,whcih lead our eyes so nicely from the bottom of the shot higher and higher till the suburbs of Athens in the far distance(by the way really like how the skylineemerging from behind all these masts and boats.
And the culmination of your composition-these lovely reflections around the boats(always charming and attracting our attention).

Ciao Ourania,non и facile trovare nuove idee e composizioni da questi luoghi,ma tu ne sai una piu' del Diavolo,come si dice in Italia..ehehe...hai costruito una prospettiva infinita con le barche sulla destra come una cornice dentellata,lasciando spazio al mare ed allo sfondo magnifico sul lato opposto,qualita' eccellente come sempre! Hello Ourania,
I trust your note better than the location you have indicated, so I believe this is really Piraeus, not a newly discovered angle of Leros :-).
I have only seen the large port of Piraeus and didn't associate it with the peaceful atmosphere among small boats that you show here. But the water looks very much like the water of Leros and offers a similar pattern of curious reflections and ropes.

This is a delightful bright and sunny picture from springtime by the sea. The pure white of the distant city and the boats contrasts well with the deep blue water and the reflections on the water are lovely.

Gorgeous bright light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Great waterscape, superb water reflections and wonderful clear rich colours - The foreground shadow with the sunlight further away draws the eye into the shot naturally. There is plenty of detail, no blacked out shadow and the white balance is spot on. Well done.

We see the boats not completely but exactly or these yachts are all very expensive in price.

This works so beautifully well, I feel this because as I look into the scene, I want to crane my neck in and see more. More of the boats themselves and more of the beautiful background landscape. As ever, vividly blue water looks superb and the soft reflections are a treat.

Hi Ourania,
You have used the bows of these boats to cooperate into a clear diagonal line in the picture. Also beautiful reflections here, the boats are reflected in the water and the light is reflected on the bows, to create a fine pattern. A very attractive picture!

Ici je prйfиre la profondeur de l'avant-plan et le miroitement des bateaux sur l'eau, cette partie est trиs bien prйsentйe avec de jolies couleurs.
Cependant la partie haute de l'image est un peu chargйe

Nice reflections with smart choice of a vertical format. The distortions in the water add interest. Good repetition of the yachts and effective tight framing. The blue and white colors go well together and are symbolic of the national colors of Greece. Tfs!

I'm not much of a boat guy myself, but I've always enjoyed the harbour/marina scenery, there's just something kind of adventurous about the idea of being off land. This looks like a quiet and calm place to just "hang out," even without setting sail. Nice reflection on the water and well arranged to catch the blimp up above. It's nice to see these kinds of places we don't generally experience or witness because they're lesser known. Well done my friend.
