Zest for Life

Many parts of Rostock were very quiet, as many of you already noticed, but it turned out most people had gathered in the main shopping street, Krцpeliner StraЯe, and Universitдtsplatz, a square near the middle of the street with many attractive gabled houses and a fountain called Brunnen der Lebensfreude (Fountain of the Zest for Life), known locally as the Pornobrunnen, because of the nude sculptures.

Hello Lars, a very colourful scene.
The buildings are beautiful, and what a variety of styles.
All the people really do enliven the picture, and it's lovely to see the children enjoying them selves in and out of the fountain.

I saw many fountains with water jets in the ground, but this one looks different, because it has statues mixed. nice view of the area with many beautiful faзades around.

Hello Lars, This picture reminds me a bit of our Gdansk. Nice square surrounded by beautiful tenement houses, charming scene with the kids playing in the fountain in the hot day.

Lars, good idea to have included the entire crane into the frame. The square and the fountain represent a meeting point in Rostock center. Some children beat the heat while bathing in the water jets. The adults relax on the public benches. Excellent glimpse of the local architecture. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hi Lars.
A beautiful street with varied and colorful facades, also many people on the street, the fountain is strange with jets of water but without a sink, I think the jets come out of the floor and modern sculptures, the crane is immense too.
Good perspective of the image, very pleasing to the eye.
Colorful, sharpness and luminosity are captured effectively.
Very good composition, magnificent presentation.

Hi Lars,
lovely square with plenty of stylish townhouses, there are as well some modern ones which however try to resemble the same shape.
I like including the people on the bench in the foreground, it adds some life to the scene without disturbing it.
The cranes are annoying but what can you do :)

Dag Lars,
Even de draad maar weer opvatten en doorgaan waar ik was gebleven. Het lijkt alweer een eeuw geleden dat we hier in Rostock waren en lijkt het een klein wonder dat we hier deze zomer zijn geweest.
Leuk om het “stoere jongetje” op deze foto terug te zien.
