Photographer's Note
Burgtiefe's Sudstrand kite beach on the southern side of Fehmarn Island (see map for exact location).
Südstrand, the IFA Holiday Centre is to be found about three kilometres from the small town of Burg, directly on the long, fine sandy beach.
The whole island of Fehmarn is absolutely lovely - with more than 100 km of hiking paths and is well-known for its sunny and dry climate with 2,000 hours of sunshine each year.

Hello Robert,
what a nice picture of these beach chairs. I like your POV and the sky in the background.
The black & white version is probably the best choice for this scenary.

Helmut

Hi Robert,
this composition looks really "old fashioned" as if it was taken 50 years ago. A very fine impression of this beautiful beach! (I know of course the place and I do not like the holiday centre...)
TfS!
Best regards

Immaculate beast, Robi...
Pixel by pixel by pixel...
And, if I am missing anything in this production of yours is the rest of that lady behind the shelter...
My approach would be: Hello, beautiful... Here I am... Right here... A coo-coo.. Psst...Psst...
And I would get either : Get the phuk out of here, you pervert or: I'd get a great smile on the sun drenched beach of Fehmarn Island
A full smile from me without asking me to do it...

Salut Robert,
I like a lot this BW.
The sand is bright, and the graphics are great, in the sky and on the beach.
Regards,
JB.

Now this is very "posh". As usual an excellent B&W toning which is the colour that I imagine the "cabanas"(?) to be. Your POV puts them in diagonal lines and the horizon is perfectly placed on a third.

Südstrand ... Sounds very German and is quite funny to read between your English note. I guess you need the numbers on the beach chairs otherwise you might be lost and I am afraid there is no navigation tool that leads you back to your chair. The only trick is to keep the number :) I really had to smile about George's commentaire with the whole lady he wants to see ... this is what makes this website so much alive. Fantastic photo, it really is, very stylish approach with your b/w treatment and I actually like that you can't see inside the baskets, you kept the privacy and this is what these baskets are for I suppose and keep you out of the sun. Enjoy your Sunday ... Barbara.

Hello Robi. Great textural detail and tonal range. I like the contrast between the bulky, static quality of the shelters and the tiny scurrying figures in the background. An image with a strong whiff of nostalgia!
Best wishes...Maggie

A lot of repetitions and textures here. I like the depth of the prespective too. Strong sky!

hello Robert,
Joli, ce graphisme en noir et blanc. L'endroit semble plaisant. Joli ciel chargé aussi.
Bonne journée

This one is very good too - that same hard dramatic light as the kite shot, perfect for B&W.
I think a slightly higher viewpoint might have worked well, so we could have seen a bit more of the goings-on on the beach, but that probably wasn't possible.
Cheers,
Ben

This is the strangest beach summer scenery I ever saw, Robi. In the thumbnails I thought it was something related with D day in Normandy or something - I mean the b&w and the threatening sky gives a very dramatic mood and I have never seen these baskets before. I feel this is too cold for me, reather than a sunny and warm climate...The graphism makes a very interesting picture though. The best for me is the 100km hiking paths :)
Wishing you a Merry Christmas,
ric
