First of a serie I made on our way from north, The Netherlands to my family in the south of France, in the Rhône Valley.
We use to take that 900 km road twice a year, mostly during spring & autumn. And it's always worth stopping and taking some photos...

A bit more about La Champagne:

The name Champagne could make you think first of the famous bubbling drink, and of the well known cathedral of its capital Reims. But further than the glamourous sights there is also an unspoiled rural idyll image of contrasting landscapes - the originally name Champagne is derived from Latin campagna, which means countryside.

The region is typically a geographic following of naturel phenomenon as gently rolling hills, valleys and plateaux with its lakes and water meadows in the south, traversed by numerous rivers, which the two greatest are the Meuse and the Seine and the looping rivers and deep forests of the Ardennes in the north.
