40 years of Fкte de la Musique june 21, a photo from Poitou-Charentes, West

Photographer's Note

It is a French initiative to celebrate music on the first day of summer, June 21. We owe this initiative to the French Minister of Culture at the time 1982 : Jack Lang.
All styles of music, classical, rock, jazz...
Since every year musicians and spectators have been in the streets for this event originally in France, then in Europe and now internationally ... I guess that in many of your countries, dear friends of TE, we also celebrate the 21 june all music?
To illustrate this "Music Festival", here is a view of a Chinese musician playing one afternoon last June on the quays of the port of La Rochelle.

Hello Jean,
This is the kind of photo I like. A nicely dressed person in the foreground doing something interesting against a beautiful background. That person being a lady in red is a clear advantage, the perfect weather is another plus. The photo is sharp and clear and you placed yourself so she wouldn't disturb the view of the fine gate and tower.

Wonderful portrait of this musician playing on the old city. Water and classic buildings make a perfect background. Effect of wind on the scarf is a fun detail.

A fabulous photo with many wonderful elements. The bright blue sky, the beautiful old buildings in the background, and the Chinese lady in brilliant red playing her instrument. I like the way her veil and her hair are blown by the wind. Great composition and sharpness.

It is strange the different dates that start seasons around the world. Here winter starts on 1 June and summer 1 January. In norther Australia the Aboriginals have 6 seasons.
A good photo of music making on a breezy day. Enjoy summer.

Beautiful street scene. The lady has an amazing red dress and the white veil. It looks so photogenic. Pity that she seems to be covering her face because it appears so beautiful.
The instrument feels quite exotic to me. Nice capture of the artist at work. The background is amazing! Not only beautiful exotic musician but also captured with a stunning architecture at the back.
I don't know anything about the festival but I live away from the town so maybe I am missing some live concerts at the moment, who knows?

Spectacular composition to praise the day of music, superb that corner of the port with beautiful facades and the gate-tower that is wonderful, the young woman playing the Chinese zither in the foreground is the ideal touch for this composition and its purpose.

Hello Jean,

The musician, dressed so dynamically in red, makes a superb focal feature but set against such a wonderful background, she gains even more prestige!
In England, the music is all Glastonbury Festival, but I am sure I would appreciate this remarkable lady and her setting even more!

Les beaux bвtiments et l'immense porte de la ville forment une belle toile de fond.
Pendant les mois d'йtй, la Belgique organise de nombreux йvйnements musicaux, mais je n'ai pas encore entendu dire que le premier jour de l'йtй йtait cйlйbrй ici de maniиre musicale.
