Photographer's Note
I have no idea what to show that you would like.
The view of Capitolium in Toulouse behind the market with big umbrellas. Impossible to make the iconic postcard.
The Capitole (French for "capitol") is the heart of the municipal administration of the French city of Toulouse and its city hall.
It is supposedly on the spot that St Saturninus was martyred. The bishop of Toulouse is said to have been tied to the legs of a bull, which was driven down the steps of the town's capitol, causing his head to be bashed open.[1]
The Capitouls (governing magistrates) of Toulouse embarked on the construction of the original building in 1190 to provide a seat for the government of a province growing in wealth and influence. The name "Capitole" referred not only to the Roman Capitol but also to the capitulum, which was the chapter of the governing magistrates. It was a centre of contention during the 1562 Toulouse Riots, with Huguenot forces holding it with captured cannon.
In the 20th century, the structures surrounding the vast (2 ha) Place du Capitole were redesigned, but the current façade, 135 m long and built of the characteristic pink brick in Neoclassical style, dates from 1750, built according to plans by Guillaume Cammas. The eight columns represent the original eight capitouls. In 1873, Eugène Viollet-le-Duc built a bell tower typical of the style of northern France on top of the donjon of the building. It was in this donjon that Jean Calas, a Protestant victim of a religiously-biased trial, was interrogated. Only the Henri IV courtyard and gate survive from the original medieval buildings. It was in this courtyard that the Duke de Montmorency was decapitated after his rebellion against Cardinal Richelieu. A thorough redesign of the Place du Capitole in 1995 reserved the space for pedestrians. Some of the interior of the Capitole can be traced back to the 16th century. Today the Capitole houses the city hall, as well as the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse opera company and the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse. The Salle des Illustres contains 19th century works of art.
Other view of facade and view from interior in Workshops.

Good morning Malgo,
"The Pink City" ! Somehow, the way you caught it in the sun, with the red umbrellas makes it look even brighter than pink !
Lovely dynamic created by the life on the market, and beautiful background created by the ornate building against the blue sky.
A cheerful picture in the midst of the present grey weather.
Kindest regards.
Marie-Louise.

Hi Malgo,
An attractive outdoor market, with the red umbrellas contrasting superbly against the blue sky to give a terrific warm cold color contrast. Excellent sharpness and well framed and composed. Tfs!

Hello Malgo,
I think this market is a regular fixture; I had the same problem when visiting Toulouse. The colourful parasols complement the pink stonework of the Capitolium. I like the animated atmosphere and the excellent colour contrasts.

Hello Malgo,
It's an impressive building, but generally such buildings don't impress me much, so naturally I am much more interested in the red and white umbrellas and the activities going on under them. It looks like a second hand market for books, maybe other items further back. I would probably have looked for more photos among the stalls, but the light may have been difficult. In this panoramic shot you had no problems with the light.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo,
You seem to have included so much in this single photograph!
WE have the busy market, with its canopy of bright, red umbrellas and, beyond that, a view of a most impressive, red and cream, decorated building.
I do like the inclusion of the lamppost, standing proud, flexing its arms, like some egotistical strongman.
Have a lovely w/e,
Bev :-)

Well done!

Hi Malgo
that doesn't sound like a fun way to die...not that any way to die is fun...but thats not how I want to go. Looking at your shot i think you need more vivid colours - just kidding of course :) its pops off the screen with all those red and oranges and blues. well informed note too
cheers

With such a strong red one could not photograph it!
The umbrellas are a fine complement to the ancient architecture.

Hello Malgo,
The overall warm tones in combination with the blue sky make this a striking picture.
A very nice place for a second-hand book market.
You combined well an attractive daily life-scene with a beautiful building.

Hi Malgo,
I especially like the warm colours on this one. Orange brown on that massive classic building, red parasols and yellow boxes full of second hand books. Normally I'd love to go and inspect what kind of books there are on offer. But not knowing any French, I probably wouldn't make good finds for myself.

Ciao Malgo
Saluti

Hello Malgo,
Horizontal crop format works well to this scene, the outdoor books-display on long stalls and under red and white parasoles fits nicely with the beige and light-brown beautiful building on the backdrop.
The vendors seem not to be busy so much, but added sense of life to the whole.
Best regards,
Ike
*** The newspaper HQ moved to other location, the are is now "florishing" with tall new towers. Thanks.

Hi Malgorzata,
The red umbrellas are framing well the building. The point of view is showing the details of the Capitolium. The sharpness is excellent. Have a nice day.
