The park Gayeulles is the largest park in Rennes. Leisure base north-east of the town is mainly a forest park of about one hundred acres, which also includes three lakes.
View of Park GayeullesLa municipality conducted by the Henry Freville built in 1967 under the name of Park Wood, but he was open to the public in 1978, to allow time for the young trees grow.
A set of nearby land is purchased by the city the same year, a former racetrack (destroyed for security reasons) and a farm called the Lower Gayeules. These lands are then converted into a recreational basis, the Gayeulles, which will eventually give its name to the entire park.
