Photographer's Note

I came across this abandoned building whilst wandering through the village of Boisredon. I thought it would make a good study in tones and textures.

Boisredon is a French commune situated in the dpartement of Charente-Maritime in the Poitou-Charente Region close to the border with the dpartment of Gironde.

It is a small rather nondescript village with a population of just over 600. In the 19th century it was noted for the manufacture of tiles and earthenware and the production of tree bark for use in the tanning industry. Nowadays, the mainstays of the local economy are viticulture and animal breeding.
