Ces troncs de chкne noueux sont а Saint-Malo ce que les planches sont а Deauville. Plus robustes qu'une maзonnerie, ce systиme de protection des remparts date du 17иme siиcle, mis en place а la suite d'une tempкte qui avait endommagй les fortifications. De 7 mиtres de long, les troncs sont enfoncйs de 2,5 mиtres dans le sable. Ce ne sont pas moins de 3000 troncs qui jalonnent la plage du sillon.

Bonjour Nicole,

These gnarled, wooden stakes are of great importance to the city of St. Malo, but they also, make an interesting feature for you photographically.
You have chosen a fine aspect, filling the f/g with their shapes, designs and textures, yet there is plenty of b/g information to create a sense of place for the groynes.

Belle perspective avec cette plage ensoleillйe, bien composйe la photo sur diffйrents plans, cela accentue l'effet de profondeur d'image depuis les brises lames jusqu'aux constructions en fond d'image.

Hello Nicole,
These wooden trunks from the 17th century provide a fascinating foreground and create an attractive pattern. Far behind we see a long stretch of the beautiful sandy beach and the town. There was a good light and you captured this with very pleasant colours.

Trиs heureux de vous revoir sur TE, (je vous vois de temps en temps sur Facebook) ; jolie composition avec cet ensemble de troncs de chкne cassant les grosses vagues (du moins, je le prйsume).
Difficile de croire que nous sommes en pйriode hivernale а travers ce beau tableau marin.

Bonjour Nicole,
A very nice view of the wide beach and the town along the waterfront in the background on a clear and sunny day. The many wooden stakes make a great pattern in the foreground as well.

does the water ever come up to these wooden stakes, it must.
what an unusual sight, the sight alone makes for a good photo and attracts attention. From this point of view its as if something is wrong and they don't belong or it doesn't look right haha. good shot
