Photographer's Note
This photo was taken in Les Praz, a town next to Chamonix. When I saw this attractive little church, I noticed how the grey wooden spire seemed to mirror the grey rock spire of Les Drus, way up above the clouds in the background. Just left of the rock spire is the ice-covered Aiguille Verte (4121 m), which is actually higher than Les Drus but further away.
Open in a new tab to see a large version.

Salut Vincent, magnifique composition avec la petite eglise de Les Praz mais sourtout un gros spectacle en haut de l'arrier plan, avec Les Drus qui sort parmi les nuages, pas facile le voir si bien, une capture parfaite et de haut niveau! Bon WE et merci,Luciano

Hi Vincent,
Indeed those two spires are quite impressive, especially presented together like this. Lovely view towards those peaks between forested slopes. This reminds me of Kandersteg in Switzerland.

Hello Vincent,
It is such an impressive view to see these pointy and rocky peaks in the background. They stand out so well from the blue sky and the low-hanging clouds are an excellent bonus also. The green slopes and the charming little church make a wonderful foreground as well.

The church tower points well to the mountain peaks that rise above the long cloud.
This is an excellently composed picture, showing a wonderful scenery. Very good sharpness and clarity.

Hello Vincent,
I recently posted a photograph of a French church in Pomeleuc, which had a spire remarkably like this one, and quite unlike most churches that I have seen in France.
This is a beautiful photograph, not only for the clarity of the scene but, also from the fine composition, the steps guiding effectively, the angled church well placed in the f/g and, as you note, linking the spire of the church to its lookalike mountain!
Excellent!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Vincent,
the shape of the mountain reminds me the famous Cerro Torre in Patagonia.
Spectacular scenery and brilliant composition with the title well pointing towards the analogy between the two spires, one man made another natural.
Fantastic colors, so well saturated, pleasant for the eye and natural.
The clouds cut in the view nicely. Enough to raise the interest but without disturbing the actual view.
Excellent work!!

Hello Vincent
This picture is poetry to my Canadian eyes because the outstanding backdrop of a valley seems to protect the tiny church as a jewel in a green velvet case!
Professional depiction, of course! Many compliments.

Bonjour, cher Vincent,
Une petite église de montagne aux toits pentus pour évacuer la neige en période hivernale.
Une présentation de toute beauté.
Amitiés.

Wow, stunning photo... very interesting composition, featuring two spires, indeed! Great clarity and sharpness, color saturation, but not overly saturated, and very atmospheric and serene. Would love to see this peaceful place someday!

Hi Vincent,
The trees are framing well the church. The point of view is showing the details of the church and of the mountains. The quality of the light beautifies the colors. Have a nice day.
