Photographer's Note
A more intimate shot of Mt Blanc than my last upload which was from 160 km away. Here the last light of day colours up Mt Blanc, as it pulls a blanket of cloud over its head to keep warm during the night. It might appear that I was high up in the mountains when I took this photo, but that is just a trick of the telephoto lens. In fact, I took the photo from the balcony of our holiday apartment in Chamonix.

Salut Vincent.
Amazing shot presenting the beauty of the tallest peak in Europe, a discrete observation from a far distance, still the quality is superb. Beautiful colours, charming atmosphere in the thin air up there. TFS!!!

Hello Vincent,
I am amazed at the beauty of this scene!
The light, the colours, the textures are superb.
You have given the photograph depth by including the f/g edge and composed the scene with the high parts on a third!
It's the sort of shot that you would expect in National Geographic!
This is heading straight to my favourites. Thank you!
Bev :-)

Hi Vincent
It's an attention grabbing picture caught at magic time of the day. The warm glowing snow peaks are real magnet in clean mountain air and fantastic clear blue sky which provides a fine contrast! This is indeed remarkable shot, Congrats.

Salut Vincent.
This reminds me sitting atop the restaurant roofs in Katmandu and sipping cinnamon tea watching the snowcapped Himalayas gradually turn from white to pink to gold to red. A superb zoom shot with wonderful color and lighting and immaculate sharpness. Tfs!

Hello Vincent,
Excellent shot with some mesmerizing lights and colours. The lights of the setting sun provided you with some excellent opportunities and you didn't have to leave your room! Can you please tell me the name and address of this apartment? When this nightmare is over I want to go and stay there. Thanks in advance!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Vincent, you are very honest telling us that you were in your holiday apartment when you took this beautiful shot.
The light is wonderful, highlighting some parts, and even the parts in shadow are still clear to see.
Excellent presentation.
Kind regards, Jean.

A marvelous set of colors upon the slopes and sheer cliff, Vince.
Variable light and shadows where partially covered with snow, made the beautiful contrasting tones here.
Have a nice new week,

Hello Vince,
This is one spectacular view taken from your balcony, of course with the help of your excellent telephoto lens. So beautifully close-up and the sharpness is so crystal clear, like my heart is burning up with the warmness of the soft glow shining on the summit.
It's indeed the last light of the day to remember and cherish. Seeing this view again the next morning, the first light of day, is pure delight.
Thanks for sharing.
Loong
