Photographer's Note

Young boy on the beach of Porte d'Enfer (Hell's gate) watching two fishermen cutting out a ray (or batoid) they have just caught.
We can see the ray in white. Arms and legs of people around make a "natural" frame to the picture.

Jeune garзon, sur la plage de la Porte d'Enfer (Nord de la Guadeloupe), regardant deux plongeurs dйcoupant une raie qu'ils venaient de capturer. Cet "йvйnement" a attirй de nombreuses personnes profitant de la plage, en particulier les enfants, fascinйs par ce spectacle un peu macabre.
Les bras des personnes autour crйent un cadre (en losange) а la photo.

Kind of a weird one....creative and a little gross...you can't say the viewer is not close to the action.

I think this is a great very different photo. I like the point of view that you have used to make your composition, and I think that black and white was a good choice for this photo. Very creative.

what a great and different pov. seeing the boy from this pov makes it a stimulating and really interesting picture. such a delicate and expressive neck. good choice of b&w, good tones.

Hello,
Excellent use of contrast to draw the attention through the 'frame' of people. Quite a bloody spectacle I would have thought had you made it in colour, so mono was a good choice. Looks sort of duotone in the skin areas, well taken,
