Photographer's Note

I was at a wedding and the couple had rent a dancing for a few hours. Nobody else than the friends/family was there so the just married woman was dancing in her white wedding dress without any shame. Some people were using flashes to shot but I prefered to use my tripod and make a 1s shot of the dance floor. Flashes are often unable to reproduce this kind of mood. At the first look, the photo just seems to be blurred but it is not, the long exposure makes the people quite transparent, it seems they are evolving like ghosts on the dance floor. A colleague told me I should had use the rear flash sync to trace the movement and get fixed subjects but I don't master that technique yet.
No postprocessing except resize for the web

Belle photo, Rudy ! Je crois que c'йtait une bonne idйe de choisir la pose lente. La synchro lente au flash rend aussi de beaux effets mais tel quel, c'est nickel. La transparence rend le mouvement et l'ambiance ; j'aime aussi le cadrage : personnage а droite coupй, qui laisse ressortir la mariйe au centre et йloignйe ; belle ambiance !

The colours are great, and I like the action in it, very much. Good choice not to flash, colours are more intense. I like it very much!

You got a great result, Rudy. The motion and excitement of the dancefloor is very well rendered, and the lights and colors are wonderfully intense. Very good work. I also try to avoid using flash at all cost and rather go for a longer exposure for low-light or indoor shots, so I sympathize a lot with your technical approach on this one ;-)

J'aurais peut-etre coupй le bas de l'image pour йliminer la table?

I love the colors here. That and the movement are rendered so very nicely. It comes across very electric. Very energetic. I like this ghost like feel of the people. It gives an added feel of fluid movement and time. Here one moment and gone the next. And the lines and shapes that come out in this give it a very graphic feel to me. Good job.

A very interesting shot. The human figures look like colourful ghosts and one can easily discern the bride. Very well composed shot. I do not think rear sync or any kind of flash was necessary because it would've given definition to the faces and that would've changed the whole composition to something else. This composition has its own unique dreamy quality. Thanks for sharing.

Such kind of shots look better when you shoot audiance too in the background. Since they would look stationary amongst the ghosts :)
