Always a cool effect Arnaud. Completely individual here on TE. Square format, for me, is sometimes difficult to see...I think it is more challenging to have an interesting composition because of the framing symmetry...but you do a fantastic job. Here the subject is smack dab in the center, but the "flare" helps relieve some of the symmetry and gives this shot an incredible amount of drama. Standing back and looking at the photo gives the impression of a reflection in someones eye...a really outstanding photograph.
Do you scan from your negatives or do you scan from a print; just curious?
Good day,
Chris.

Hello Arnaud
Now this is an artistic use of those bothersome flares, I have never seen anything like it.
The way it frames the photo is excellent and at the same time the overexposure it creates is a perfect contrast to the dark center.
About the centering, I don't agree completely with Chris. It is centered but I feel the tree trunk makes up for this with the optical illusion of the person almost being part of the tree. (No offence Chris)
Thank you for sharing.

Really interesting effect which really matches the subject matter well. B&W was also a wise choice too. A very original shot to what we usually see here on TE. Excellent!

A poetic and umbilical image....dreaming of the safe warmth long lost!

Oh I missed your Holgas. More please, Arnaud... when will the bubble burst? Seems almost too idyllic... trees, reading, sunlight...
marvellous, metaphorical, graphic.

Arnaud,
Brilliant use of flare. It looks so natural so peaceful. It reminds me of many an hour spent in the parks of Paris.
Cheers
Peter
