Paris Boules, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

This is my first posting so be gentle!
It was taken in Paris in 2003. There is some cropping before altering to monochrome. I thought it would look different to most of my others which were standard snaps of the Tower and obviously boules is an apt motif. It was taken with my previous Olympus C350 which was good on clear days but weak at night and in low light.Any advice welcome.

Nice one Rob! Pitty the image is so small it would be great to see it in like 1m x 2m size or even to be there;).

Hey Rob and Welcome to TE!
Very nice and original take of the famous Eiffel compound. Lighting and B&W conversion are very good, getting the graphic elements in place as well as the mood of that cold morning. I wish, though, that you would have posted a larger version, say 600px long or bigger - that way we could distinguish the details.

Hi Rob, welcome to TE. For me, this is a real 'Parisien' scene, something that can be seen in the city & captures a little bit of the essence & atmosphere of the place. I would definitely agree with the previous comments regarding the size of the image, as on screen it's very small & this causes some of the detail & effect of the shot to be lost. But the B&W conversion is good, this shot definitely has potential.
