Photographer's Note

The Upper Chapel of Sainte-Chapelle was reserved for the king and other royals. It was built by Louis IX in 1248 to house Christ's crown of thorns, which has been moved to Notre-Dame treasury. It was hard to get a photo without people in it so my POV was aimed up over peoples heads looking to the East.
