Chinese New Year #3, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Another excerpt of the "Chinese New Year" serie I made last week-end in the 13th arrondissement of Paris where I already presented this man with a red flag and that guy looking around.

This lovely asiatic lady was part of a larger group playing traditional music. In fact, I was located at a very bad place, a little behind her 10m on her right. I thought I could have nice shot for her profil when she suddenly turned toward me. I'm really pleased to have her glancing at me at that very moment. I think I couldn't expect more than this very nice attitude.

Slightly cropped, levels and tones were adjusted. USM applied : I tried to be more careful this time... Let me know :)

I also tried a B&W version as I felt the smooth light was quite appropriate IMO. Let me know which one you prefer.

superbe portrait pris sur le vif! j'aime le vent dans ses cheveux, son regard а la fois triste et timide et l'excellente mise au point.. belle compo egalement. bravo steven!

Superbe ce portrait ! Les cheveux au vent ajoute une touche dynamique, trиs bonne profondeur de champ.
Je prйfиre la version couleur.

Portrait pris sur le vif; une bonne "prise"
Comment a t'elle rйagi pour la photo ?
La luminositй est douce, la nettetй est parfaite; j'apprйcie mieux la version couleur.
Le WS est vraiment inattendu !

Just saw "Chinese New Year" by Tom. A small world indeed... Well framed, extremely sharp, clear and crisp image. I only wish the background was even more blurryed but still, I like it a lot.

Beautiful girl and very well captured. Her expression is very natural and relaxed. The sea of faces behind her add to the photo.

Hi Steven, saw your B+W version, but must certainly say that the colored one is my favorite. The blood vines in her eye, the yellow robe, her red lips, her skin tone all better, in my opinion, then B+W.

Beautiful portrait. I like the way she turns a little towards you, but not totally. The wind blowing in her hair is a nice touch. Good use of DOF too.
