Photographer's Note
After last year's march on the Champs Elysées, the 2005 Chinese New Year in Paris came back to a normal size event in Paris. And franckly speaking, for me it was a nicer and happier experience since the crowd was less compact than one year ago.
Here, I was in the 13rd arrondissement, in the most famous asiatic area of Paris. People seemed very enthousiastic and happy to walk with the dragons and the to see the Martial Arts or dance exhibitions.
So, it was quite easy to walk around, run away from the powder blasts from everywhere and trying to get some nice portrait. So, let's start the serie for this happy new year of the Rooster.

outstanding photo, looks like an oldtime realist ad with chinese people waving a red flag all over the frame for a better future.
on the negative side there's too much sharpening, the guy's skin looks like a concrete wall : dont know whether it comes from your settings (did you put the sharpness setting to 5/5?) or post process.

What Luko said, fantastic image but the face looks unnatural.

superb composition with this red flag over his face, great DOF, I will not repeat about sharpening :) (but you can correct it as you have been shotting RAW).

Yappy New Year Steven !

Very 'cinematographic' feeling to this capture, Steven - the dimmed bokeh adds to the feeling.
Unlike others, I quite like the clearness & crispness of the guy's face as it puts more contrast between his skin and the texture of silky flag.
Very good,
Robi

Very very dramatic picture with the red and the face of the guy. The back out of focus is also an additional asset.

Very strong colors. The expression of the guy is very well captured, this one and the girl are my favorites.
Very nice!!
You didn't use Neat Image? Man the 20D is very good!!
