Photographer's Note
The Arles Amphitheatre (French: Arènes d'Arles) is a Roman amphitheatre in the southern French town of Arles. This two-tiered Roman amphitheatre is probably the most prominent tourist attraction in the city of Arles, which thrived in Roman times. The pronounced towers jutting out from the top are medieval add-ons.
Built in 90 AD, the amphitheatre was capable of seating over 20,000 spectators, and was built to provide entertainment in the form of chariot races and bloody hand-to-hand battles. Today, it draws large crowds for bullfighting during the Feria d'Arles[1] as well as plays and concerts in summer.

Hello Philippe,
An excellent downwards point of view on this magnificent ancient amphitheatre. We are permitted to appreciate the architecture in great detail whilst the visitors, whilst the people offer a good sense of scale.
There appears to be a problem with the designated location, which at present is recorded as Ile-de-France.

Hello Philippe,
Very nice point of view. Gives the feeling of being able of fly like a bird. It's lovely to discover action in the arena. So you can estimate the volume of the building.
Have a nice day,

Bonjour Philippe,
This is a remarkable building, having survived so much intact for so many centuries! You have provided an excellent, bird's-eye view, perfectly sharp, so that we can appreciate its shape, size and structure.
Your details suggest that the amphitheatre is being used for a bull fight! I was unaware that such activities occurred in France!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Philippe,
Le cadrage serré met les arènes en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des arènes d'Arles. On dirait une maquette, ta note donne beaucoup d'informations. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hi Philippe,
Marvelous view of the miniature of the great arena, I guess this would be the only POV to see a full side round structure - unless you take a Helicopter flight...
Perfect view of the smallest objects - fantastic work of meticulous art, and no-less a fine photo about.
Bonsoire'e,
Ike

Bonjour Philippe,

Buon we

Salut Philippe,
Ces monuments ainsi fait en modèles réduis permettent d'avoir des PDV originaux et donc de bénéficier d'angle intéressants pour les photos comme depuis des drônes ... Belle réalisation et bonne photo bien gérée, exposition et netteté.

Bonjour Philippe
A superb aerial view of the Roman era arena with good sharpness and framing, leaving adequate breathing space right around. It looks just a tiny bit smaller than the one I saw in Nimes. Tfs!

Hi Philippe
impressive older amphitheatre for sure.
I wonder how it looked when it was first built hundreds and hundreds of years ago, i bet it wasn't this pristine looking :)
too bad its used for Bull Fighting today, as an animal lover I think its horrible, and I ALWAYS cheer for the Bull to stab the man.
where did you take this photo from? its an excellent pov, showing the total circumference. lovely shot and well detailed
cheers

Bonjour mon ami, Philippe,
Like a miniature model of a bull-fighting arena, you have presented this beautiful photo in Elancourt. The light colors of the building are beautifully highlighted by the red padding on the fence encircling the grounds of the arena.
Warm regards, dear friend,

Hello Philippe,
I suspected this was a miniature and reading your reply to Stephen Nunney confirmed it. It is so realistic that you might want to mention in your note that this is a model.

Bonsoir cher Philippe,
I like the angle you chose and the way the amphitheatre is placed, covering most of the frame and displaying so many interesting features for the viewer to study. I like the soft lighting and the variety of shadows, the moody colours and the arena making a captivating focal point. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
Ourania
